providing a unique form of therapy and recreation through use of the horse

Captain

Captain has pretty much done everything, from English to western to trail riding and swimming on the beach!  Adrienne bought him when she was 10 years old, and he became the best pony anyone could ever ask for!  He brought her up through several Pony Club ratings, doing dressage, stadium jumping, and cross country.  Then when she moved onto different horses, he became her gaming pony, which he absolutely loved!  He may have been small but he couldn't be beat!  He was so fast back in his hay-day!  She also taught him how to ride bridless, with just a rope around his neck.  Today he continues to be an all-star pony!  He is the perfect therapy horse for smaller riders, and he loves to teach independent riders how to walk, trot and canter.

Captain is sponsored from August 2010 until August 2011 by Peter and Jane Sturdivant!

Sponsor a Horse

Our special therapy horses work hard, always offering patience, strength, and understanding to our students without asking anything in return. They all receive the best care to ensure that they remain healthy, happy and comfortable. Between veterinary care, routine maintenance, hoof care, feed and supplements, the cost for one horse for one year exceeds $3,000. Please let us know if you are interested in sponsoring a horse for one year, or contributing to the cost of their care.

If you sponsor a horse for an entire year, you will:

  • Receive a certificate of sponsorship with the horse’s picture
  • Receive a tax deductible donation receipt
  • Be recognized on the website, in the annual newsletter, and on the horse’s sign
  • Receive periodic updates regarding your horse
